Gimme a V! Gimme an O! Gimme an X! What's that spell? VOX!

heard a quick piece of history the other day that got stuck in my head..glad it's in there though..in the US civil war, the soldiers from North Carolina were said to be the ones who stood there ground the most..they wouldn't flinch, they wouldn't retreat and they were considered the most brave i would say..for that they were called the "tar-heel boys", cause General Robert E Lee once said that it seemed to be like they had tar on their soles that made them stick on the ground so they wouldn't move..i thought it was really cool, how a nickname could come of such an honorable thing..
oh well, just wanted to share that with you..that and the song i placed below, i liked the cold smooth voice of the girl, hope you like it too..cool fact: the girl that sings was actually a dancer sometime..have it awesome!..
Although we typically post on Team Vox to let you know about things that are going on with Vox (to, uh, state the obvious), once in a while, we like to let you know about other cool things that are happening around the blogosphere. And we think the idea of four hilarious mommy bloggers traveling across the U.S. on their way to the BlogHer '08 conference - all the while blogging and video blogging the journey - is one trip you will not want to miss.
Four adventurous bloggers from the Silicon Valley Moms Group were selected to participate in the Summer Road Trip '08 and blog about their travels, hotel stays, media appearances, time away from their families, and life on the road. Six Apart helped them partner up with General Motors, who provided the blogging mommies with a Chevy Tahoe Hybrid SUV to help make their journey comfy, safe, and a little more green.
In case you're not familiar with them, SV Moms is a group of over 200 bloggers who showcase the ups, downs, outrages, struggles, victories, and everyday humor of motherhood. There are currently nine regional and demographically tailored sites that give mothers from D.C., New Jersey, the Deep South, Rocky Mountains, L.A., and Silicon Valley a powerful voice and sense of camaraderie across the country. Whether you're a mother, a child, or just a person who enjoys a good blog, you'll really love reading the words of these amazing women.
The moms buckled into their Chevy Tahoe Hybrid SUV on July 11th and even got an encouraging message from Katie Couric to kick things off! They are currently somewhere in the middle of America making their way to San Francisco where they'll attend an SV Moms Group Party, as well as BlogHer '08.
You do not want to miss these entertaining and irreverent bloggers -- or their spontaneous contest giveaways! -- as they blog from the road. Experience the journey at MomRoadTrip.com.
And let us know about your summer road trip - or plane/boat/bus trip - in the comments! (I like to live vicariously.)
...you cant stand seeing couples kissing on their profile pics.
...you cant stand seeing couples smiling together in their profile pics.
...you get disgusted or slightly jealous when another couple gets engaged and spreads it all over facebook.
...you can't even stand looking at the "happy couples" page in the TBT.
yeah thats right. I'll admit it. I am Shannon and I am bitter, and mostly jealous. I am sick of being alone and I am sick of being slammed in the face with happy couples.
I know I would feel differently if I was 1/2 of one of those happy couples I see all over the gosh darn internet!
What was the best thing about your weekend?
I had an awesome weekend! i have no money left, but it was all worth it!
Thursday-Kristen came in from Pcola
Friday-We went to warped tour, front and center for The Academy Is..., also got the set list and got it signed by all members!
Friday Night-went out to Howl at the Moon with the boys, wish I could have stayed longer, but the Moon will always be there!
Saturday-lazy day
Saturday Night-good times with internet friends on ustream and skype. miss those days. "hung out" with Amanda, Jake Marsh, and Matthew. Hope to do it again soon! Maybe once classes are over
Sunday-finally installed new keyboard, which means I have an "n" again! Yay! Ellie randomly surprised me by telling me she was back in town from living in New Orleans for almost a year! She may end up moving in with me too, if she decides to stay in the area! I hope she does! The three of us girls (Ellie, Kristen, and I) spent the day at Brandon Town Center and rode a double decker carousel at the mall! pic and video to come!
Sunday NIght-Found out Eric is also back in town, went over to his apt to work on my lesson plans that were due TODAY!
Besides staying up until 2am to do lesson plans, the weekend was a blast! I wish all my weekends could be this fun!
This is going to be random and short, but I wanted to share.
So last night I had a dream about Spooky, where someone came over to my apt and they were holding Spooky. The person like pushed all of Spooky's fur out of the way so you could see his skin, and there on his skin was a stamp with an address of the vet he had been neutered at (because Spooky was a stray cat that came to my house and ran inside, and he was already neutered). The stamp on his skin had his birthday, his name, and the address of the vet he was stamped at. I don't remember what his name was, but I do remember his birthday for some reason - October 27, 2006. Who knows if that is true or not. I am just going to stick with his April 1, 2006 birthday.
Oh and since we are talking about dreams, I also had a dream last night that I was dating Chad Michael Murray's character on One Tree Hill - Lucas Scott. I have no idea where I get this random dreams from. But it sucks because they all seem so gosh darn real.
Okay enough about dreams. On with my day! Ellie is in town. Might meet up with her. I have tons of homework! opps!

Do you live in or around Cincinnati, Ohio? If so, you're in luck because Scott and the Queen City Voxers Group have organized a Vox user meetup!
WHERE: Ault Park Playground. 3600 Observatory Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45208. "We'll look for each other at the playground marked by the red X below. If it's raining, head for the shelter to the north of the [red] X."
To RSVP (which is not essential, but is appreciated), reply to Scott's announcement or send him a private message. All Voxers, as well as their friends and family, are welcome to attend.
If you do attend the meetup, have a great time and please take lots of pictures and send them to me so I can post them in Team Vox for everyone to see!
Thank you so much to Scott for organizing this meetup. Wish I could be there!
What question do you hate being asked?
Anything related to my height. I mean I obviously accept that I am short. There is nothing I can do about it. Oh and I hate being asked about whether I am a virgin or not. I don't know. Sometimes I don't mind talking about my height and whether or not I have had sex, but sometimes it irks me.
